I am curious as to why, when I bid 4NT/P/5C/P/6D then the robot bid 7C, forcing me to 7D when I have 8 diamonds to the Ace with high honors and 23+ total points. We did not have the 4th Ace and of course lost the first trick.

The only reason I can imagine is that I may have made a bidding error entering Blackwood. The bidding went 2C/P/2D/P/4NT to enter the sequence above.

Yes, the bot had 7 Clubs of his own, but he had a gap at the K.

It corrected to clubs because it thought your 2c-2d-4nt sequence showed a huge balanced hand 28-30 hcp, it doesn't believe you can have 8 diamonds (5 at most) so it thinks that 7c has better chances.

2c-2d-4nt probably is supposed to be huge balanced, you should let partner know you have diamonds + unbalanced by bidding 3d or perhaps 4d, not 4nt.

There are some holes in GIB's bidding database though:
- opening 4nt appears to be undefined. Perhaps an opening 4nt bid should be regular blackwood by default.

- 2c-2d-4d is only 5+ diamonds with no differentiation vs. 3d. Maybe it should show 7+ solid, demand cues?
