Scoring: MP

Is there any way to make 4S on this hand if the defense insists on playing hearts at all chances?

This came up in the club, and our consensus in the aftermath is that it cannot. But...it was made by at least one table by a local pro. Could easily be that the defense gave him a trick by leading clubs twice, but I wanted to ask this expert crowd if there is something else we might be missing?

Agreed, although I don't find it inconceivable that you'll get a club lead and a trump switch which is potentially 11 tricks, or a trump lead and another trump when you duck a club, which is 10 tricks.

If the defense insist on playing , yes, but not if they decide to cash a trick first before continuing .

Answer to your question: yes
Answer against best defense: no

Are you saying that declarer can make after: heart lead ruffed, three rounds of diamonds, heart? How?
... that would still not be conclusive proof, before someone wants to explain that to me as well as if I was a 5 year-old. - gwnn

Think he was referring to heart lead, pitching diamond, heart continuation pitching diamond, east cashes A clubs, then a 3rd heart-after which you can ruff, ruffing hook in clubs pitching a diamond.
