This may not be exactly on topic but I'm wondering what has happened to the screen showing ACBL masterpoints. All I get now is a screen showing all of the mp's I have earned since day one, back to 2004, or something. No breakdowns or totals as to year, month or day anymore. What gives?

Yea, what was the point behind this? It really sucks, imo.

Right now we're gathering data on the people who like the new format and those that don't. If the latter outnumbers the former, it's not going to be hard to change it back. But if it is changed back, it's not going to be until after the Nationals

That will give us plenty of time to get a good idea of how the players like (or dislike) the new points page. So, please, keep the comments coming.

Jacki :)

I didn't know BBO had a screen like this. You can always view your masterpoint breakdown in the My ACBL section of acbl.org.

Like jacki said. But if could tell me here or via email what makes this current screen bad, that would help me improve it

you're missing the point. On the previous point (lets not call it masterpoints) screen, you could view all points won on BBO by month, year, and point type (even non-ACBL points). iirc, they were further split by robot reward/race or club type if that's where the points had been won. Now its just one big list with everything combined together and no summary total for anything.

I thought you were talking about a special screen for ACBL masterpoints.

I don't see any difference in BBO's Masterpoint History screen. When I click on it, I see a list of the different types of tourneys: Robot Reward, ACBL, Robot Duplicate, etc. When I click on one of these, I see a list of years, clicking on a year gets a list of months, and clicking on a month gets the list of tournaments and their MPs.

Then we must be accessing it through different links:

http://www.bridgebas...oints/index.php

used to give the breakdown as you describe it. The above link no longer does that for me.

To Uday: Please, please, please go back to the former screen. This is an example of fixing something that isn't broken. I can't believe that anyone would prefer the new screen to the old. The old screen gave instant summaries of any points for any year, month or day. It allowed you to keep a running total of where you stood for the current month without having to get out your calculator to add the separate entries. Overall history could be accessed under the old screen as well, so this new format doesn't add anything at all insofar as I can see. It just detracts from what before was a very useful format. So again, please revert to the old screen as soon as possible.

I'm not accessing it through a link, I click on Masterpoints in the BBO web client.

You're lucky to still be getting this. I sent a separate Email to bbo and got a reply saying that the screen gave breakdowns as to years, months and days. I think she was referring to the old screen which she apparently thinks is still in place, same as you. But for me, and apparently for several other posters on here, the screen has been changed to this other thing.

I liked it fine the way things were. Now I have a big problem that before I could see Anyone's total by clicking POINTS and entering their BBO ID. That was very useful to me. But now I cannot get info on anyone but me (not even their total points) and it makes me sign-in just to get that self info.
So now it is virtually useless to me since the only point infomation of my own that concerns me is to see my overall point total once in awhile; And that displays everytime I Logon anyway.
To find points info about potential opponents aor partners was very helpful. Also for seeing if "Stars" actually have any recent twinkles at BBO online or just showing light from the Big-Bang.

bbo software links to this website, which shows the breakdown of the masterpoints:

http://www.bridgebase.com/points/lists.php...e=your_username

replace "your_username" with your nickname.

Ok, I'm convinced that we need to do something. We'll fix this screen when we return from the ACBL NABC in NO. We can't quite go back to the old screens but we can take care of most of these issues

What I can't figure out is, why was the old screen ever taken down? Why did someone decide it had to be replaced, and who in the world ever thought that the new screen would be anywhere nearly as good as the old?

Now, to add insult to injury, I can't even access the old screen by canceling "classic view" and clicking on ACBL world, or whatever it is. I could do that before, after I started this thread, but now he old screen has been taken down from that too. All I have left is this new thing where I have to get out an adding machine to see what my current month totals are, never mind totals for other months and years. That's right, it's helpful to me to be able to compare this month to the last, or to 6 months ago, or to the same month last year, etc., without having to add it all up inductively from this new monstrosity (screen).

Please get this fixed if possible and bring back the old screen or something comparable where totals and summaries are shown once again.

Thank you.

I tried the website suggested by bb79 but it didn't work. Just got that message that the website couldn't be shown.

Well, the NABC is now in the books and I hope the points screen will soon be returning to its former incarnation The old screen can be accessed by unclicking "classic view" but it is neither as handy nor as user-friendly as before.

A new screen is implemented today, same site as before.
