well one thing is clear you have useful honors in all suits where partner rates to hold 3 as it appears that he has a singleton or void in ♠

well then the ♦Q is a useful card and both your kings look to be well placed so 4♠ ADDENDUM and the 4th ♠ doesn't hurt either

I'll just bid 4♠ then. I think there is a good chance Leftie bids 5♥ and we get rich. I'm not going to aim for both 4M contracts going down at IMP or partial IMP but maybe at pairs that's best....

I also have the king of a suit bid on my right, and where parter is likely to be short. That seems quite defensive.
Finally, I have the king of a suit where partner probably has two or three cards. That seems more defensive than not.
The only thing that suggests bidding is the extra trump. That's counterbalanced by the relative shortage in partner's second suit.
I'd double. (Edit: or maybe pass is right. BUt I'm not bidding 4♠.)

The 4th spade is nice for spades but the off-suit kings and diamond shortness point to defending.
edit: I've never played in a Patton event, but double looks 100% clear at BAM, and only so-so at IMPs.

Edit: I gotta start checking the whole topic before answering. I think partner's bidding is flawed, either he has to pass the X, bid 3♠, open 1♦, or not open at all. It's also my fault for not having an ace...
