Scoring: XIMP

2C-2D
2H-3C
3N-pass

This is NorthGIB.
3C is cheaper minor; 4- total points

Why not correct to 4♥?

He has no ruffing value, and 9 tricks are likely to be easier than 10.

one of the smaller problems of GIB.
... and I can prove it with my usual, flawless logic.

GIB simulates between 3N and 4♥. Many of the hands in the simulation happen to be strong 25-point balanced hands, where 9 tricks are easier than 10. When I tried running 10 simulations, GIB passed 6 times and bid 4♥ the other 4 times. An example where 3N fared better than 4♥:

I do feel it would be better if GIB bid 4♥ here without simulating.
