Favorable vul, the auction proceeds P P 1C dbl P 1S 2C dbl all pass

the doubling hand Ax AKJxx Axxx Ax the advancing hand xxxxx xxx xx Qxx.

The doubling hand says he planned to bid 3H over a 2S advance but wonders if he should have rebid 2H. The advancing hand says that he cooperated once already and has defense against 2C.

2C is settable. The questions are...what does a second double promise for hcps/shape, did doubler have enough to double a second time or should he bid 2H? Is the second double still takeout and should advancer have bid something?

Yep. As that link points out, the 2nd double should have a 3rd spade. this leaves 2H, rather than a second double. Too strong to overcall, no 3rd spade, 5-card suit.

X then 2 would be fine by your partner. It shows a very strong hand, since the modern style is to overcall 1 up to something like 17-18 hcp.
In principle I like his bidding plan, but I think he should have a tad more for X+X+3 - say the Q also.
