It happens often to me (but i suppose i'm not alone) to look for some pard/friend to play togheter.
When the fellow is playing some tournoy (timed games) closed to kibbitzers, it's is impossible to undestand AT WHAT TIME he/she will be free.
I suppose it is not so difficult, for people that manage the software, to show, at side of timed tournament title, REMAINING TIME TO ITS END.

Thanks a lot

invitations do get through during tournament play.

just send the invitation and let the friend decide

the invitation states how long the next game begins and he can make up his mind

occasionally he might accept and the game is delayed and then your entry in the next game will be cancelled

he can also talk back to you, tho you cannot reach him for chat, just for invitation

Babalu just wanted a shoulder to cry on, is that too much to ask for?

You can also ask the TD how many boards are remaining.
"And no matter what methods you play, it is essential, for anyone aspiring to learn to be a good player, to learn the importance of bidding shape properly. MikeH
"100% certain that many excellent players would disagree. This is far more about style/judgment than right vs. wrong." Fred

Why not show the board status in the "Who's Online" section, eg
"Playing Tournament(BBOHORNETS) 02/12 6min unclocked" or
"Playing Tournament(BBOHORNETS) 02/12 0:23 to go"

Or show it in the description for the table "02/12 0:23 to go"

BBO knows these things. Why have to ask busy TDs?
