Scoring: IMP

(-) - p - (1) - Dbl
(3) - 3NT - (p) -

You have a pretty nice hand.
Do you pass 3NT or try more?

4NT, and feeling a little conservative.

Pass. I'll pay the price for the preempt.

I found this to be an interesting problem. I wondered what hand he might try 3N on looked like, and mostly I came up with 5 or 6 D to the A which makes my hand look really slam-ish. The C hook if required rates to be on. So it looks to me like we have 10 minor suit tricks plus my 2H.

If I give my RHO an 11 count to open I can assign about 10 to partner which suggests to me he must have a decent 5 quite likely 6 card D suit. So mark me down for 4S and a raise of the minor to 6.

Old-fashioned Blackwood would come in handy as I am willing to be in 6 with K on a finesse.

I think I try 4 anyway, now I take 4 and 4 as natural so any hand suitable for a club slam will bid 4. If p bids 4NT, I pass.
The world would be such a happy place, if only everyone played Acol :) --- TramTicket

(-) p - (1) - Dbl
(3) - 3NT - (p)

With these hands 6/6 was easy.
Most posters above would have found it, all with different methods.

I like 4 because it's natural and i think north should cue 4 after that.
