lol you have a system to show exactly this hand and you're asking us what to do? would you like a written invitation?
obv I GF'd and showed my hand. Some posters want to bid 3
♥ though, and that's why I asked... my judgement is hardly perfect.

out of interest - what do you do with your balanced 18 counts?
you don't want to know...
... we open 2
♣. Hey, at least its not a common hand-type!
It doesn't seem to work out too bad in practice, as responder can pass or xfer to 2M so can play 3 strains (right-sided) at the 2-level. Also, having 2NT rebid as art GF = super awesome yahtzee jackpot jenga in a surprising amount of normal auctions...
Mexican 2
♦ is great.
2
♣ is better although it creates some problems with GF hands.
What do you use the 3NT rebid for.
We use
2NT = Game invite plus without three cards in partner's suit - 100% forcing with a minimum responder must bid 3 of partner's suit (even without support think void) which might sound bad but you are no worse off than natural after 1m 1M; 3m
3suit = Game invitational with three cards
and the bidders choice of
3NT (less distributional)/4suit = Game force with three cards
The last option(s) is not ideal as it risks wrong siding 3NT but on the other hand partner removes fairly often.
It seems to be that when you have a gadget that describes your shape perfectly that it becomes very reasonable to stretch to use the gadget when the alternative is also flawed in some ways.
