For all you teachers out there, there is a macro program that has been used by Teachers on OKbridge for years.
It is called OKscript and available from the web..just do a search for OKscript, download and read all the instructions...The tutorial is a must.

Its shows up originally as a nice icon on your desktop.

Its saves you from constant typing during a class/lecture or even during normal play when you need to alert a bid>

Important - There is a target - this tells the program where to send your prescripted chat. The target for Bridgbase is: Base
Once you learn the program simply insert Base as the target.

I used to use OKscript a lot, when I was a member of OKbridge. It is written under Python, yes?

When I moved over to BBO I tried to get it to work on BBO but with only limited success in getting it to use the correct input focus. That was a long time ago, and times have moved on - probably both with the BBO interface and with versions of okscript.

And, last time I tried it was before the first Flash interface for BBO had been published, so there may be more possibilities.

If you can get it to work properly then it is a great tool for regular partnerships to send explanations to the oppo. I could never get the explanations to tie in to the bids themselves - had to make do with the chat area.

I think there are other products that do the same sort of thing.
Psych (pron. saik): A gross and deliberate misstatement of honour strength and/or suit length. Expressly permitted under Law 73E but forbidden contrary to that law by Acol club tourneys.

Psyche (pron. sahy-kee): The human soul, spirit or mind (derived, personification thereof, beloved of Eros, Greek myth).
Masterminding (pron. mPosted ImagesPosted ImagetPosted Imager-mPosted ImagendPosted Imageing) tr. v. - Any bid made by bridge player with which partner disagrees.

"Gentlemen, when the barrage lifts." 9th battalion, King's own Yorkshire light infantry,
2000 years earlier: "morituri te salutant"

"I will be with you, whatever". Blair to Bush, precursor to invasion of Iraq

With the web client you now have the Chat Manager, which seems like it should address this need.

Does Chat Manager not require a bunch of clicks while the other software uses a hovering palette with everything click-once-to-send?

It works great but not on the web client as it cannot find a defined target. I am no techie, but it may be due to Flash.

And yes, the latest version 4, is easy to work with, especially the editor. You can actually copy/paate with your mouse..lol
