FOUR CARD ENDING HANDS ROTATED - SPADES TRUMPS
South cashes the spade, EAST has to keep a club.

South cashes last spade, east still has to keep a club.

Diamonds thrown from dummy. Heart Ten used as "steppingstone" to get to dummy's good heart.

So the name give by Terrence Reese in Master Play (other name for book in England) is steppingstone squeeze

First reaction was... yeah kinda.

But several people I know disagree with you.

That being said obv inquiry is a god at squeezes so they're probably trumped

No others are right. After I went to bed last night I remember that steppingstone squeeze doen't gain a trick, just an entry to solve a blocked entry condition, so this is not a steppingstone squeeze. I always get the three he has in his book (vise, winkle, and steppingstone) mixed up..... I've made this mistake in this forum before... :(

I am fairly sure this is a type of VICE (or VISE) squeeze which was in the same book..... He only gave (I think) one example of each type which is why it is easy for me to get their names screwed up....

Yeah, this looks like a Vice variation (having just read that section in Kelsey's Strip Squeezes). One of those cool hands where dummy has no entry, no squeeze card and a dubious menace. You can get some pretty cool endings sometimes where dummy is close to useless and it seems like you are just cashing your winners, but dummy turns out to be surprisingly useful!
