I'll pass.

One of the opps has to have a void.
If LHO is bidding 4NT with a void, ....
RHO's pass probably shows 1 ace if they play D0P1.

They don't know yet that they can live with a missing A and I won't tell them.
If they bid on I can still bid 6 or 7 .

Maybe partner is the one with the club void.

I have seen stranger things. He bid 5 for the lead against a spade contract, planning to run to his long red suit if doubled.

In any event, I pass.

I never passed with 7 card support in my life and I am not starting today. This is a very simple-minded and flawed approach to bridge I guess but at least it deters partners from bidding 5 on AKx and out and think they are being funny.
... and I can prove it with my usual, flawless logic.

Pass. Partner has a club void.
and the result can be plotted on a graph.

too many indicators that pard is void in clubs.

I too think p is the one with the void - pass

Hmm... pard is either massively two suited with longer clubs or has a void is hoping I have a sense of humour.

However, I don't think that the latter explanation carries much weight since a lightner X conveys the message if they do bid slam.

A massive 2-suiter and the longest suit has 6 cards headed by the ace-king-empty? Vul against not? I don't think so. And there's also the fact that it doesn't sound like both opponents have a club void.
and the result can be plotted on a graph.

why can you infer they both dont have a club void, han?

i infered they don't have any agreement about what to do, and therefore probably are bad enough to keycard with voids, etc.

Yeah I'd pass, it's not like bidding 6C now gains much, it takes some room away from them for trying to 7 and that's about it.

I hope that the original poster would have said, if he had a random partner or one with creative ideas.

But you' re right I thought for a moment that the void could be held by a future ex-partner.

That would have spoiled it. BTW, CHO didn't have a club void

Partner might have 5 clubs and 6 hearts for example and is willing to show both suits.

Also LHO might be a joker here given the vulnerability.

I'd pass for now.

Isn't that more than a bit nuts? At what level is partner going to be able to later show the longer hearts?

Followup question for the passers: what are you doing over each of the following:

1. 5-P-P
2. 5-X-P
3. 6-P-P
4. 6-X-P

1) pass, I don't want to drive the to a making slam.
2) 6, sorry partner but your tricks won't make.
3) pass, going down is too expensive since they are white and we are red
4) 7, now we can afford down 4 (may be down 5 is not a catastrophe) if they are making and partner should have more than AK. Hope they make and are not overbidding.

I voted pass and now four more passes - are they off, making seven, don't know.
