In theory our only chance is stiff K of clubs. This is becuase if the CK is on, we only have 1 entry to dummy anyways since they can block us.

In practice, if we lead low towards the A98x, the defender is not going to go up with the K with Kxxx, so we can get 2 entries if we want with the CK on. Then if the DK is on, it will be doubleton (given the diamond pitch must be from 5 cards), so we can drive out the spade and get 3 spades, 2 hearts, 4 clubs, and 3 diamonds.

So the question is do we want to play for a stiff king of clubs? It depends on if opener is a bean counter I guess, really he should be equally likely to have A9xxx QJTxx Kx x as A9xxx QJTxx Kx K since the stiff K is irrelevant.

So I would probably play a club to the 9 and then drive out the spade, later taking a diamond hook (if they forget to cover the clubs then I have a squeeze, but I'm confident I won't need it since it will be Kx of diamonds anyways).

I have a feeling this isn't the line you were looking for though!

Justin has it right. IF WEST has the club King (four times), he can hold you to one entry to the dummy. Also, there is some question to as if EAST would open without the club king (or if he would REBID 2♥ without it). Justin's play -- counting on a defender mistake, is probably the correct move based on percentage of success. The play I had in mind is to play EAST for singleton KING.

Careful if you do, of course, the hand is not over yet!! As Justin pointed out, you need two entries to dummy. One to establish the spades, one to cash them. So when you play EAST for the singleton KING, you have to lead a high club and overtake it to unblock the club suit.

Ben the auction seems messed up (or possibly dealer). I suppose Justin assumed West had opened.
Also on the layout you are showing there is no way we can make it (unless someone dropped the ♠9 under the table).
"Are you saying that LTC merits a more respectful dismissal?"

Yes, I had the wrong dealer (it was south) and when I first posted the hands, I had E/W hands reversed. In the real world, south was really west, in getting it posted I forgot to change the dealer. I wasn't at home when I posted the actual hand (thus no spot cards) and didn't realize I had flipped the EW hands.

Thanks for helping me get that corrected!!
