2. Now 2♦. This may very well be our best fit. If partner wanted me to choose only between the majors, he will redouble again.

The suit is really ugly for 2♣, but I would have bid, too. I'm passing now though.

I think that would show both majors , but with longer (or maybe better) ♥s , maybe 6-5. With equal majors, I would expect him to Rdbl.

I'm not really sure what partner has yet, but I suspect I'm very happy he chose to run.

Don't see any reason not to bid 2♦.

Follow up question: What are the minimum and maximum number of clubs that partner can have?

I was North. My partner was South and sat for 2♣XX which went one off. He was convinced that I would have both majors. When I said that if I didn't have clubs and I couldn't stand diamonds, I should have so many cards in the majors that he shouldn't be worried about them, he was still not convinced. :lol:

standing on an SOS redouble is kinda the worst thing a partner can do towards partnership confidence.

You can forget about conventions and partner won't care as much as telling him that he is wrong without even knowing his hand.

If you bid 2♦, and if partner actually has both majors and short diamonds, I bet he can come up with a solution for that problem.
