Scoring: IMP

Hello, this is the eighth thread in the big poll. If you didn't start at the beginning, please start at the beginning (hand 1). Please provide the most probable result after East opens 1 and you either

a) pass
b) double
c) bid 2.

Please do a cross imp result like:

a-b:
a-c:
b-c:

(a-c means the imps a wins over c)

Thanks :) Please try to do all 30 hands also :)

a: 1-P-1N-P-2-P-2-A/P. Three down on a diamond lead. +150.
b: 1-X-2-2-P-2N-P-3N. Nine tricks, +600.
c: 1-2-P-2-P-3-P-4. Makes four on careful play. +620.

a-b: -10 IMPs(-450)
a-c: -10 IMPs (-470)
b-c: -1 IMP (-20)

It is possible that north saves the day in sequence a with a 2 overcall. But the spade length is a big negative feature.

Many wests will pass and north will balance.
and the result can be plotted on a graph.

a: 1S (pass) pass (1NT) pass (3NT). N/S +600
b: Agree with awm. N/S +600
c: Agree with awm. N/S +620

a-b = 0 IMPs (--)
a-c = (1) IMPs (40) to N/S
b-c = (1) IMPs (40) to N/S

1-P-P-2
P-2-P-3
P-4-AP, +620

1-X-P-2NT
P-3NT-AP, +630 (maybe only 600 on ideal defense, but I don't want to be sitting E on this deal, all sorts of terrible happens on the run of the clubs, and even if you pitch diamond J, it still sucks)

1-2-P-2
P-3-P-4
AP, +620

a-b: 0
a-c: 0
b-c: 0
I once yelled at my partner for discarding the 'wrong' card when he was subjected to a squeeze that I allowed by giving the wrong count with too high a card. Now he's allowed to pitch aces when the opponents have the king in the dummy. At trick 2. When he could have followed suit. And blame me.

you are conceding 620 too quickly IMO, it requires some elopement and perfect timing. Chalk me down for the one that things it will go down.

A: -100
B: +600
C: -100

A-B = -12 IMPs
A-C = 0 IMPs
B-C = 12 IMPs

b.
1-x-p- forcing to game but not finding hearts
3NT should make I think

+600

c. now we will get -100

ab: -12
ac: 0
bc: +12
... and I can prove it with my usual, flawless logic.
