Yes. Luckily, while they are useful, the 2D/M bids are what I call "bolt-on" MidChart conventions - one can go back to "natural" without doing anything to the rest of the system. For some strange reason that seems to be almost all of the MidChart conventions you see over here - my partnership, for instance, won't even go that far and play, say, "multi 2D, Precision 2H, 2S whatever" or "MaxiRoman 2D, Precision 2H" in MidChart events (even though we'd prefer to), because the damage caused by forgetting is so extreme. And they're effectively "bolt-on".

The big issue, strangely enough, is the Multi 2D required to free 2M for the two-suiters, as that's been regulated to 6+board MidChart games. It's very likely that someone at the NABC will be able to find a MidChart game any day (unless they decide to go into bracketed KOs the limit on MidChart is "no team in your bracket with less than 1500 MPs/player", which can certainly be problematic); finding a MidChart non-pair game every day will be problematic.

Actually, I've checked the Reno schedule; there are a couple of days where if you are not lucky enough to have qualified in the Big Event, there is only a Stratified (GCC) pair game and the KOs.

The 2♥ opener, showing a weak hand with 5+ hearts and 5+ in any other suit is not legal even at Mid Chart.

The 2♠ opener, showing a weak hand with 5+ spades and 5+ in a minor is legal at Mid Chart. (Actually only 4+ minor is needed to be legal)

So, if playing a Mid Chart event, you could change 2♥ to be 5+ hearts and 5+ in a minor.

Good gracious: those are both Level 2 in the EBU, ie legal in novice/holiday bridge. They must be very scared in the ACBL!
