Yes must pass. Luckily you seem to have a fair shot to beat them.
Please let me know about any questions or interest or bug reports about GIB.

If I am standing close to a train track and I hear the whistle blowin' I ain't inclined to run out onto to track to try and cross the bridge.

We can all easily construct hands on which we should be acting....hands where acting is best even opposite a partner unable to act.

But acting on those constructions means that you are taking a completely unilateral decision in circumstances in which that decision will be very wrong a lot of the time. Sometimes you have to don the superman cape and act unilaterally, but this isn't one of them.

Pass. I think you are hampered by your first choice of call. I would have preferred 3 if allowed by system, 4 if not.

That's a good point. Why didn't I overcall 4?

If they're going to bid 4, and partner has the sort of hand where I want to go to the five level, he's more likely to do so after 4 than after 2. And 4 has some chance of finding neither opponent with enough to act.
... that would still not be conclusive proof, before someone wants to explain that to me as well as if I was a 5 year-old. - gwnn
