nice hand! teams, we're favorable 4th seat so we can't wait to jump somewhere in spades!

p-2♠-(3♥)-??

oh noes! now what? looks like jumping somewhere in spades is still a good idea! opps play a strong club system but probably need 1 more hcp to open than jlall or jjbrr.

LHO hand hidden here and please bid for him too:

Hi,

4S, planning to sac. depening on how confident they do bid the slam,
I will let them play 5H.

LHO: I guess it is either X or 5H, we have ??? support, hence 5H it is.

With kind regards
Marlowe

Interesting that our LHO has already passed making this one very solid 3H o/c. The opps may not have any way of showing 2 suited hands. 6 losers is all there is so 6S looks sensible as I am confident they have 12 tricks.

This kind of reminded me of a hand I held once with AKQxxx S and partner opened a weak 2S. I held Qx in H and splintered scooping my Q to beat their slam a trick. That was funny, well to me it was.

But with the wide range of hands for a 3♥ call are you as West willing to go to 6?

Well if you want me to make a call for LHO over my 5♠ choice that would be X. Regardless of the number of tricks I actually go down my assumption was based on CHO holding a 6322 hand with an unspecified arrangement of the non-♠ cards.

I think it's so unlikely they either make or will bid a grand that I don't like jumping to 6 right away. I'll start with 4 to try and let them stop in 5, but if they bid 6 I'll sac.
Please let me know about any questions or interest or bug reports about GIB.

I like the idea of bidding 4♠ and sacrificing over 6♥ which was mentioned by others.

I happily bid 6♠ and might even get +100 when they bid 7♥

I also like the idea of bidding 3NT and then rescuing myself when doubled :)

At this vuln 1100 is the worst we can ever go for. They only need to make 6 for 6♠ to be right, and if partner has a stiff any where we down 800 at most which isn't a horrific disaster opp. a vuln game.

4♠, I like to try to let them play at the 5 level.

bidding 4♠ LHO would bid 5♥ with that holding IMO.

And over 6♠ it's obviously not obvious what LHO should do.
... that would still not be conclusive proof, before someone wants to explain that to me as well as if I was a 5 year-old. - gwnn
