Dec 22, 3pm EST, most BBO yellows will be playing in a 14 board MP Indiv (1 board per round).
Come kibitz and join the fun! How?
Predict who will be 1st - 5th for a chance at some fabulous (okay, little) gifts.
So to join, just reply to this thread, and post in this format by Dec 21st 2009 23:59pm EST (NY time).

BBO Lobby news article on the contest:

This google spreadsheet should list your pick, as posted in this thread. If it doesn't, or if you'd edited your picks and post, please try to inform any yellow so the spreadsheet can be updated.
Since Forum account name is likely to be your BBO name, that's what we'll assume your BBO name is unless you state otherwise in your post. Not terribly important unless you win and we need to try to give you a prize.

This isn't the first year this tourney has been held, so it's starting to be a tradition. To help you with your prediction, Ben (Inquiry on BBO) used BridgeBrowser (talk to sfbp for info on this) software to figure out the results of the previous, more casual tourneys. BBO's Myhands records page: http://www.bridgebas...hands/index.php
Sfbp's bridgebrowser of course (data is probably not up to date)
WBF records for some of the yellows, etc.
---------------------
Also, here's the list of yellows who are currently signed up for the tourney. This doesn't mean they will play of course, just that they've signed up, so it's likely they will play. This part will be updated as things change. (Tourney is currently created as a "Free tourney" by Georgi. Go to free tourney area and see if you can spot it).

Uday is not well known for being a very good player because he is much more well known for his work with BBO, but he is definitely very strong and could easily win this (sure fred is better but the edge is smaller than people would think, and uday will play high variance going all out for the win in the end whereas tbh I think fred wouldn't care that much, and would be concerned about not ruining his partner's possibly good games). If just betting on a win rather than a high finish, this might even give uday the edge over fred.
Ofc there are many other world class yellows, I won't mention them all but I will say I used to play quite a bit on BBO with ritong and he is legit a great player, and even better for an indy! Old fashioned bidding combined with not dropping tricks and giving clear signals. Best way to play an indy.
