Of course. What else?

That's fine. The value of the hand in a 3NT contract should be within the range of what partner expects, unless you have an exotic preempt style. Same with the (lack of) defensive values, and value in a 4M contract. And 3 is safe enough at this vuln. And it's favorable at IMPs, even 1st seat, gotta preempt if possible.

Not insane, but TBH I find myself passing this type of hand more often, and rarely regretting it when I do.

Did anyone notice that this was IMPs?

This hand has everything you want from a preempt. A good suit, distribution, no defense.

Except for the good suit, distribution and no defense.

To me, this is insane. But I am sure that to many posters on these Fora it is a routine preempt.

Uggh.

certainly within my variability limits altho some may say it is too strong by 2 kings (well at least one) for these colors  .... When you have a license to steal you need to exercise it!

white v red, I don't think it is insane. I wouldn't do it, since it isn't my style with 2=2=3=6....give me 1=3=3=6 and I might well choose it (altho I'd like to have the 10/9 of clubs).

I do think it insane at any other colours, or in 2nd seat.

It's insane, but you were also in a good situation for insanity.

For us this would be a 3C opener at this colors, for others not.
But to answer your question, if you did it undiscussed, 3C is insane.

These are the right colors to preempt here with this rubbish, but if PD won't expect it, things could go wrong.

Bad shape and defensive character of the hand hints at a pass.

Would open a weak 2 if available, but not 3.

My comment? I don't like the bid with such a flat shape.

3 seems normal enough to me.
That's impossible. No one can give more than one hundred percent. By definition that is the most anyone can give.

I love this comment. :D

But it is a bid harsh, preempting is not insane, just not my style.

Not insane, it just depends on your partnership's preempt style...

I've played even more agressive (0-7 with a 5 card suit) without much problems, although thàt is in fact insane! :D
