As a rule I don't usually moderate anything in "water cooler". However, today I "unapproved" one post in the climate control thread for being, well, inappropriate. IT is true that this topic raises a lot of heated debate, but to attack the poster rather than his views is, well, wrong. I will note that I did not truely delete it. It is still there, and I will let the real moderator of that forum decide what to do with it. If it goes back in as is, is edited and allowed back in, or left "deleted" will be up to them. Until such a decision is made, the post will remain hidden from view.

I am a non-native speaker, I am entitled to malaproprism. Acquantainces and coworkers have have actually adopted my babaluisms because they say they are funny.

As to my spelling, it is really the fault of my keyboards, which letters are wiped out in 2 weeks given my sweaty fingers.

Since the thread has immediately veered to discussion of bridge cheating, it seems like it wouldn't be inappropriate in the Offline Bridge forum. But Cooler is OK, too.

A topic by someone asking for that a speciifc pakistani player (both real name and nickname given) be banned from the BBO was removed. Regular members will know this kind of stuff is not allowed. IF you want this pakistani player, or anyone else, banned for bad behavior, please write to Abuse at bridgebase dot com. That is the way behavior problems are handled, not posting personal attacks in these forums.


Phil lost on the 18 minute under, because I wasn't here until 7 pm. I will say it took less than a minute to find this one and remove it once I returned.

It also appeared that the two people who made the post and accusation created new nicknames for the purpose of making this post, indicating that they knew that what they were doing was wrong.

A post in the slow play thread was edited (by me) to remove mild threat of violence and other personal attacks. Please keep in mind the rules of this site one can attack a posters ideas but not the poster. Try to keep discussion civil.

Today a post was made in the general forums that should have been posted in the yellow only forum. This thread has been moved to the correct forum by board administrators and it is no longer visible to the vast majority of the users. And yes, to the few who read that post, bbo nicknames are used in that subforum, for obvious reasons. This is not a violation of the rules or a double standard. The yellow forum is for that specific purpose.

No.

It really isn't a spy report ---- the stuff there is pretty much like was accidentally posted publically earlier today. If you have ever been suspended from the BBO gaming site for some period of time, or been given a warning by a yellow for doing something on the gaming site that you should not, the odds are fairly high your name is in there somewhere with a short description describing why it is being posted in that forum. On the other hand, if you have never been issued a warning or been banned from the gaming site, the odds are EXTREMELY high that your bbo nickname is nowhere in there. So everyone should already have a good idea if their own nickname is mentioned in that forum, and if so, why.
