partner bids 1NT at imps

if you bid 2 he'll bid 2

would you bid differently at pairs?
... and I can prove it with my usual, flawless logic.

Sorry to initially be vague, I meant that I would pass 2 after bidding stayman.

2C for sure. I would bid 2N red at imps and pass otherwise.

Just coming up with this right now so I hope I'm not missing something big. Why not bid 2, and if partner pulls to 2 have 2NT show this hand? Or is that ridiculous, lol?

I got reminded of that possibility when I read your post that every thread needs an 'other' option.

I thought of it because I was thinking how someone taught me once you can bid garbage stayman with 3415, pull 2 to 2, then pull 2 to 3. So maybe pulling it to 2NT can be 1444 since, well, I can't think of another shape that makes sense for it. Just in that case it would also have to be just almost worth a 2NT rebid since you would have to do so over partner rebidding 2. So, exactly this hand. :)

I assumed the x's were 2345's so I'm not bidding 2 on this one. Unless I'm desperate. Or Justin.

At mps, I would try to win it in 1 NT. I think that the chances in 3 NT are too low to make a try, as are the chances that partner has a heart fit.

At imps it is closer, but I would try to swing it with pass too.
Kind Regards

Roland

2 then 2 does sound pretty cool. Anyway at imps I would bid 2C and at MPs I would pass 1NT.

Would like to take this opportunity to agree with Roland :)

I would pass 1NT at matchpoints.

I would pass 2D white at IMPs.

I would bid 2NT red at IMPs.

I'm happiest white at IMPs.
and the result can be plotted on a graph.
