5 feels like a good shot. Lite on defense, and some extra clubs and shape in reserve.

If pard doubles 5 I'll feel better about it versus if I pulled a double of 4 and then had to consider the second double of 5.

Might even get a push to 6 with an imaginative pard.

I chose 5C, but the poll will be skewed by people's style about what 3C shows.

Yeah. I figure 3 should show more high cards, so 5 is preemptive.

Yeah 5 even though we are vul. KQJ10xxx is definitely called trumps. If I wasn't allowed 5 then I would bid 3 and I don't play NFB.

No worry, it is not exclusion. Fallback agreement: if it can be natural, it is natural unless specifically discussed.

Why are you preempting a preempt at IMPs?
Bidding 5C and going down? Possibly a lot?
Maybe they make or go down in 2.
Not a big deal.
Bidding at the 5 level requires some good cards by pard.

5 seems good to me, I hadn't even thought of it actually.

Somehow I hate 5 Club.

Your partner opened red, they made a weak jump in white. Why do we want to hog the bidding?

Partner can never evaluate hands like AKxx, AKxxx,xx,Ax or xx,AKQxx,Axxx,Ax or xxx,AKQxx,AKQxx,- to give some extreme examples.

It will get even worse when they bid 5 spade in front of him..

So you throw a grenade and hope that it will detonate in the face of the opponents. But why should it? I think this is a hand for constructive bidding, but okay it is much cooler to bid 5 club then 3...
Kind Regards

Roland
