Same as if RHO had passed. I.e. 9-11 points, 4+ hearts.

For starters, this is not a jump shift. After all, partner didn't bid a suit, so there is nothing to shift from.

You are closer to the truth if you consider this a jump raise. The doubler has promised at least 3 hearts for the double and you are only raising a suit that he has shown.

A non jump 1 bid would show something like a nice 4 to a bad 8 with 4 or 5 hearts. A jump to 2 shows about the same with 5-6 hearts. If you are 9+ with 6 hearts or 11+ with 5, you will often be able to make 4 opposite a 4351 12 count.

Hearts and enough to invite game if doubler has suitable extras. As far as I know, this is completely standard.

Roughly 8-10 if you have 5 hearts, and roughly 10-11 if you have 4 hearts. Ranges not set in stone or anything and depends on shape and honor location but those are my best approximations.

I would have a bit less than Justin.

I would jump to 3 with five hearts and 10 or a good 9. 2 would be a good 6 to 9 with five hearts or a good 7 to 10 or bad 11 with four hearts.

I think gnasher also once said he has a weaker range to bid 2H on this auction than I do. Maybe an English vs US thing?

I have a weaker range than you too lol. I think it's about good 8 to 11 with 4, a point lighter with 5.
Please let me know about any questions or interest or bug reports about GIB.

FWIW I said 10-11 because RHO bid. If RHO had passed I would say 9-11 (which is the same as you). I think 1H being a freebid, it should include the 9 counts wtih 4 hearts.

yep. the 1D response makes a free/cheap bid a "not broke" bid. And, unlike after a redouble, it doesn't change the meaning of 2H, IMHO. It might be important for doubler to know whether one of them is clowning or shading their values, and whether we belong in game.

More Europe opposite USA I guess. Josh just had found his European roots.

Do any1 play transfer overcall setup here ? Or a unusual vs unusual setup

1C----(X)-----1S------???
X = penalty
1Nt = natural
2C = Diamonds
2D = hearts weakish or GF
2H = good H raise
2S= exception ... natural here.

1D----(X)-----1S------???

below the 2D cue everything is natural

X = penalty
1Nt 2C = natural
2D = H weakish or GF
2H = Good H bid
2S= exception ... natural here.

1D----(X)-----1Nt-------???

X = penalty
2C nat
2D here is responsive.

Our agreements for transfers overcall and similar stuff.

Be sure to find the lowest cuebid that will cause no confusion.
below the cue everything is standard.
The cue is transfers weak or strong
When you have an idle bid it show limit strenght.
When no hope for game the limit means im willing to compete further.

P----P-----P-----1C
X---1D----???

X + 1M +1NT =nat
2C =H not willing to compete (would be weakish or GF by unpassed H)
2D = S not willing to compete
2M = willing to compete to 3 (would be limit by unpassed)

It may seems way too complex for their own good and sometimes its give nothing but since we always these setup at the end its easier for us that way especially after they interferred over our strong C.
From Psych "I mean, Gus and I never see eye-to-eye on work stuff.
For instance, he doesn't like being used as a human shield when we're being shot at.
I happen to think it's a very noble way to meet one's maker, especially for a guy like him.
Bottom line is we never let that difference of opinion interfere with anything."

I don't remember saying that, but it was probably because my takeout doubles promise more playing strength than yours do. That's also true of English takeout doubles versus American takeout doubles.
... that would still not be conclusive proof, before someone wants to explain that to me as well as if I was a 5 year-old. - gwnn
