3. ♠A ♥AK ♦AJ873 ♣KQT86

1♦- 1♥
3♣ - 3♠
?

As I said, 3♠ is noted as 5+H's, 5+ S's (!); 4 card heart, 6+ points.

Pretty strange description. Ari - whats up with this?

I have an extra King, and a 5th club. I wasn't totally sure about our ability to stop in 4N, but 3N seemed like a position with a hand this good, although I do not know GIB's tendencies with stronger hands. Plus, it was evident the description was wrong.

I tried 4♣. GIB 4♦. At this point maybe I'm worth a cue, but I figured pulling 3N has already shown my hand and just bid 5♦. I have seen how GIB views these 'slam tries' on top of already strong bidding as some sort of 25+ nonsense. I'm too lazy to pass my mouse over every conceivable bid.

Partner held: Q9xx JTxxx xxxx void which is a totally obvious 3♦ call to me and doesn't fit the description at all, so maybe I lucked out. LH led the ♦K from KQ and hearts were friendly (Qx in LHO) so I made 6. 620 was 58%

Counterpart bid 3N which actually doesn't play too bad. You can look at the movie but someone managed to go -1. 18%. 9 tricks does look normal so give yourself 32% for 3N.
Hi y'all!

Yesterday, I signed up for a tourney. I didn't recognize anyone on the list except a recent hall of famer. Interesting, I thought.
Here are five key bidding decisions. Get them right and maybe one day you'll be in the hall of fame too. All MPs.
1. ♠KT ♥A732 ♦A743 ♣JT2
1♦ - 1♥
1♠ - ?

3. ♠A ♥AK ♦AJ873 ♣KQT86
1♦ - 1♥
3♣ - 3♠
?
3♠ is noted as 5+H's, 5+ S's (!); 4 card heart, 6+ points

7. ♠KJ63, ♥AKQ985, ♦5, ♣J8 (all vul);
1♥ - (pass) - 2♥ - (dbl);
?

9. ♠A9x ♥KQ876 ♦AKJ ♣A8
What is your opening bid? I'll give you the continuation in a few hours.

11. ♠QJT7x ♥K ♦Q9xxx ♣A8 (nv / nv)
1♠ - (pass) - 2♠ - (3♥)
?

IMO
1. 2N.
3. 3N.
7. 4♥.
9. 2N.
11. 3♠
