In the windows version you can log your chat and find it in a folder called "bridgebase online". Is there a way to record chat when you are on the Web version.

Sorry but for now this is not possible.

What you can do in the web-client (which is not possible in the Windows client) is to copy and paste from the chat area. In this way you can create your own chat log files when you feel inclined to do so.
