2D - (Double) - 2NT* - (3D)
Pass - (4D) - Double - 6S
All Pass
Your lead! (2D was weak, and 2NT - in theory - was an enquiry)
The X of 4♦ should suggest that partner has the ♦K so I lead the A. It cannot be suggesting a save as we have already made him captain!

Agreed. Our captain told us to lead a diamond. We're going to have a partnership chat if that's wrong.

Whatever it meant, I don't see why people think that the double of 4♦ meant "lead a diamond against 6♠". Why should partner have known what the final contract was going to be?
I lead a club, as the obvious route to beat it. Even if this helps declarer to guess the suit, he was probably going to get it right anyway, once he found out that I was 3-3 in the majors.

Well, declarer can be 6=5=1=1 (not such an unlikely shape on the bidding), we have a heart trick, and they have ♣AK.
I agree with the club though.

So if he redoubles it tells you what lead beats his slam? I don't call that free!

My reasoning was that even though partner had the diamond king, playing her for the ace of clubs, ace of trumps, or well positioned king of trumps was the best chance.

Help

2D - (Double) - 2NT* - (3D)
Pass - (4D) - Double - 6S
