With the new technology... Why are we humans so lazy?

I've been the coach/captain of two teams with those conditions and we always check our results manually after finishing a match. There've been msitakes. Are we the only ones that check manually? I'm sure we're not but, are there people who doesn't bother to check? I believe it's not a good policy.

I do quite a lot of the scoring (manually into a scoring program) for my local club. I put in the contract, by and tricks for all boards and then double check that the scores in the program match those on the traveller - often I've made a mistake in the data entry which gets picked up on the double check - but one day I'll miss one.
Then there are the errors I can't spot - like someone writes (or appears to have written) 1NT, N, 5 and enters 100 in the NS column. Later some "helpful" soul on seeing that this is impossible, scribbles out (in the same colour pen) the 100 in the NS column and writes it in the EW column. The board happens to be neither side vul - so there is no error that I can detect. Later I get a polite but slightly irate phone call saying it was West that was 2 down in 1NT. On scrutiny of the traveller with a magnifying glass I can just see that the original "N" was a "W" written very indistinctly.
In that case obviously someone was checking - but how many more things like that happen where nobody checked their card? And this was all manual "error".

Luckily most of them seem able to score up manually, so I encourage them to do so for a multitude of reasons!

Irrespective of the nature of the change or the motive for it, players should be aware that this is a major breach and fined if they do this. The TD must be called before any change is made to a traveller.

Er - yes. I know what should happen - and I also know it isn't going to happen at 5 past midnight after everyone else has gone to bed while I'm scoring at home.
I did make with a bit of lecture at the start of the next session after this one - things have improved a little.

Of course. Wait until about 2.30a.m. and then call the offending pair to inform them of their fine. Should make them think twice in future.
