Hi Maureen,

As an intermediate BIL player this looks like an evil hand!

Playing ACOL (or SAYC I suppose),

N E S W
n/a n/a 1H 2C
2S(5+) P 3H P
3S(6+) P 4H P
P P P P

I'm sure it could go completely differently as well!

N E S W
3 2(club ask) T A
2 3 3 J
6 4 T J

and we're down ! as AH is good for opps...

Over to the experts...

Another possibility is

S W N E
1H 2NT 3S 5D
P P X

Which has interesting play, given that S, on lead, can't lead a trump. Not that I agree with the unusual 2NT bid, but I know plenty who would bid it

It's an ugly hand. Most will be in 4 of a major. Which doesn't have any play.
Sometimes these wild hands happen, but not often enough to start worrying about it.

This hand is eeevvviiilll.....I'm cringing -- wonder what par would be in an expert field?

If I were bidding on the 4 sits the hand would be:

1-2-2-ps
3-ps-4-ps
ps-ps

Maybe west can pass instead of bid 2 (too poor hand?)

Or north autoplay in his suit because it is a very good one.

The play doesn´t matter much, looks like many downs.
