What's your plan?

a tough one for me

Kind of weird to know that 1♠...3♠ will be partner's auction regardless of what I open. I suppose 2♦ as an opening is barred (for good reason).
I'd also pass first seat. So, 1♠ as a third-seat opening makes sense.
I'd then want to know what my bids mean now before deciding how to bid. I'd like my preferred methods, namely that 3♦ shows a diamond-heart 5-5 (or greater, tending 5-6 rather than 6-5 because of the 2♥ option) two-suiter, not quite enough to open (with my relaxed standards), in which case I have described my hand perfectly. If that's not available, is 2♦ natural or drury or something else? If 2♦ is drury, and no 3♦ two-suited option, then 2♥ makes sense. 2♥ might make sense even if 2♦ is available.
Heck -- I'll go 2♥, with the assumption that the 3♦ option is out.
So, partner jumps to 3♠ now...
Gotta be forcing after 2♥. Keep with the plan -- 4♦. If partner takes this as a cue in support of spades, thankfully I have the Ace. Hopefully his spades are really good and his declaring even better. Even more hopefully he will bid 4♥ as a Last Train bid.
BTW -- 4♥ as a "last train" call, asking "bid toward slam if you have extras, sign off if not, but pass if 4♦ was natural" is a GREAT idea.

"Gibberish in, gibberish out. A trial judge, three sets of lawyers, and now three appellate judges cannot agree on what this law means. And we ask police officers, prosecutors, defense lawyers, and citizens to enforce or abide by it? The legislature continues to write unreadable statutes. Gibberish should not be enforced as law."

pass in first seat is clear.
Ken is correct to point out that making partner bid 1♠ then 3♠ whether we opened or passed is weird....heck, it's worse than that! if we pass, he shows the equivalent of about 16 hcp with a good suit (and maybe more if we responded 2red...see below), while if we had opened (why? what?), it would be non-forcing... about 10-12... and the 12 would be ugly.
Anyway, I would pass and then bid 1N.
I prefer to play 1N as semi-forcing, and that would make me slightly more comfortable, especially since I then can play BART if he bids 2♣. I couldn't usually bid 2♦ since that would be a form of drury. I would bid 1N anyway if not semi-forcing.
But... if 2♦ were available, I wouldn't bid it anyway...altho doing so could hit a home run on occasion. Anyway, having bid 1N, I would pass.
Question for the 2red bidders.....isn't 3♠ forcing now? It is surely the only force available, other than a splinter in support of your suit.
