The first line that comes to mind is: ruff the C5, then cash the D-QJ. Assuming trumps are 3-2, you can ruff a heart high and draw the last trump. If hearts are 3-3 you're home; otherwise you run the clubs and take the spade finesse. This requires 3-2 trumps, since there's no other way to return to hand after ruffing the club.

Another possibility is to cash D-QJ without ruffing a club. If trumps are 3-2, ruff a heart and draw the last trump. This requires either 3-3 hearts or the spade finesse AND 4-4 clubs. On the other hand, it preserves a small chance when trumps are 4-1.

I'm not sure which line is better; I'd guess the first.

Hi,

I think 4D is better than 3D, 4D showes real support,
3D could just be a preference.

Given responders heart holding, I think the jump to 6D
is not the scientific bid, but on the other hand, they
may not lead hearts after this auction.
I think 4D over 4C is better.

After 4D from responder, opener has a problem, most likey
he should bid 4H, but I dont likey shortage cues in partners
suit, ... if it is the first cue.
Given that we are missing a spade control 4S and 4NT are also
not attractive, which would leave 5C, bypassing 4NT also not
attractive (repetion of the previous phrase, but my english is
limited .-). Take your pick.

All in all the bidding was not too bad.

In the table, I exactly picked your first line, and went down immediately when I realized ♦'s are 4-1 I was wondering if I could take a precaution for 4-1 trumps.... Note that in this layout, by pulling the trumps, you put pressure on east and make the contract.
