I agree all the points Josh has made so far. I was the 2♠ bidder at the table and I thought this hand was on the heavy side for a 2♠ raise. The bid could easily have been 3 HCP lighter.

The system used is not mentioned.If playing sayc 2♠ can be lighter but playing 2/1 the lighter hands are shown via a forcing NT by many players.So I think 1♠-2♠ would be a good 7 to bad 10 raise.

If clubs split anything but ideally, OR opening lead is a diamond, the diamond loser becomes unavoidable (given best defense, which I don't think is too hard to find.)

If a partnership were playing constructive raises it is the sort of hand that a person wants to make a move. You could catch the right sort of hand, yet at the same time you would have to ask yourself how comfortable you will be at the 3 level facing soft trumps. As there sort of person who hates to miss games I would try, have my "I'm sorry pard" card ready. Opposite a hand that may not be constructive it's not even close for me. Bottom line is I need a solid H support position in addition to decent trumps, all this for what might be 6 imps swing? Not me.
