Reg. Do you consider your list of friends private, or can we show them to people who have marked you as a friend?

I think this opens up a can of worms. To mark someone as a friend does not require their permission.

Still, BBO is getting rather LARGE, and I wouldn't mind having multiple flags for 'friends' and 'interesting people' (which includes people I like to kibitz (and other motives)). If my friends consent to being 'friends', then it would be fine for them to view my list.

If you are prepared to forgive your enemies and forget them, you can use the black for marking of these interesting people who arent necessary your friends.
I do so.

Surely, my friends or enemy lists are absolute my private thing.

It would be useful to see who is a friend of a friend. I don't see this as a big deal given the complete lack of personal information available on BBO.

There is other anonymous information that would be interesting to see - such as the number of people who have me marked as an enemy.

Naturally I don't want people to see my enemy list, but this has not been suggested.

I would certainly find it useful to have two categories of friends :

1. Friends to play with;
2. Friends to Kib.

Three or four categories might be better - I am sure that I can find a use :

3??. Players to allow into my tourneys (that would save maintaining a "permission list" on my computer);
4??. Mmmmm - I need time to think about this one :lol:

I echo Phil here.

I have a few excellent players marked as friends only because I kib them.

It is awkward sometimes to send them chat messages while intending to reach someone else in the lobby. ( Who are you? lol)

It might be just as awkward for someone to approach them and ask say they are a friend of mine ( Who's that? lol)

I think it should be private. I don't want to feel any pressure to mark popularguy as a friend and not to mark unpopularguy as a friend. If people want my opinion about any of them they can ask. But I reserve the right not to answer such questions, or to give a dishonest answer.

I think it would be a good thing if my enemies were able to se why they receive no reply and why they are denied access.

Well one time I started missing one "friend" of mine.

After a couple of months I started asking some of his known friends about him, no one answered and I attributed it to the fact that they might not understand English.

I was a little worried that he might have died, many many months later, I chanced to play a woman who spoke english and played with him, so i inquired.

She blurted-- He is still around, but changed his handle because of somebody. Thinking again, she added: I hope it was not you.

LOL. I did see him later under another name, and actually deduced it was him for his choice of new name. But i never said hello.-- will omit the name to protect the guilty.

So it is ok, if i am on your enemy list, just tell me to piss off. I will. lol. lol.
