AKJxxx
K
AQT

It goes:

Pa Pa 1 3
Pa Pa ???

What's your bid?

I pass. I had bid with the king of diamond being in another suit or not singelton.
But so, I am a chicken.

3 NT deserves many -400s and will gain some +600/620 too of course.
Kind Regards

Roland

Pass. 3NT needs too much, and will cost a lot if it's wrong.
... that would still not be conclusive proof, before someone wants to explain that to me as well as if I was a 5 year-old. - gwnn

It goes:

Pa Pa 1 3
Pa Pa 3NT Pa
Pa X (after some thought) ???

I bid 3NT for I didn't quite like my 3 spades to the queen. I wasn't gonna be robbed of a vulnerable game by this pre-empt, but now I received this double. What would you have done?

I think pass is too pessimistic, partner can have a decent hand and may still correct to 4H if he has 3 of them.
and the result can be plotted on a graph.

3NT. Might be bad, but huge upside.
Kind regards,

I once found myself in a similar situation. Then I passed and it was good.

Nowadays I don't know if I could repeat that feat. Perhaps I dbl + pull a diamond bid to 4.
