Why is it not a redouble? You are in a GF auction and partner has shown 4, presumably. I think the redouble is fine.

It's not a redouble because Ken thought it would be funny to pass with Jxx. He was right, I laughed at the predictable outcome.
Please let me know about any questions or interest or bug reports about GIB.

Well, partially true. I did think it would be funny.
But, what a dog for a redouble. This is hardly even an opening bid, and not by most people's standards. 10 HCP. 1 1/2 quicks. Only three controls. Rule of 19. Not that great of a suit.
What -- is a XX supposed to show that you opened with a weak two?

If you routinely open this weak of hand then the 2/1 needs raised to a good 14. Of course, playing 1D-2C as game force does not fit the concept and structure of 2/1 due to the lack of the forcing NT bid.
Playing 1D-2C as GF, the 1D bid should show full to full+ opening values and shouldn't be shaded at all.
If you open weaker diamond hands, then a non-forcing 1D-2C works better.

That's actually also an upside to opening an unbalanced 1♦, in a sense. You always have 2 points more for the shape.
