We have a massive double fit, which means that the opponents have one as well.
Jumping immediately into Blackwood will serve three important purposes:
1. It will give us critical info to evaluate level
2. It conceals our Diamond fit from the opponents
2. It will jam the auction and prevent the opponents from being able to show a suit

If we play RKC 1430 there is a small chance that p responds 5♣ and LHO decides to lead a heart because his p didn't double 5♣.
Maybe we should bid 6♦ after having heard 5♣, also because if p has 3352 or 3442 we may make 6♦ by throwing hearts on spades. P could also be 4432 but in that case it probably doesn't matter if we play 6♦ or 6♠.
There are enough ways we might make slam even missing an ace plus the king of hearts. So I just ask for aces:
0 aces: 5♦
1 ace: ask for ♠Q
2 aces, no queen: 6♦
2 aces plus ♠Q: Check if p happens to have a king.

A good auction could happen. Partner could, for instance, bid 3♥, a call that solves all issues about heart leads. If so, I can bid 3NT serious and might hear a 4♦ call, which also clears up a lot. Now, I just blast 6♠ and leave them wondering what is happening.

I would absolutely be bidding with south's hand. My goal is to keep bidding 65s aggressively until I get burnt, but so far that hasn't really happened yet.
What I don't get is, if you're going to bid 4NT anyways, why not bid 4♣ on the way there? What's the difference between the immedaite 4NT and splintering first?
(Also, the probability that partner is 4432 distribution probably increases greatly for B/I - A/E opponents probably aren't going to sit on a 10 card club fit...)
