A question I have always wondered: Do all players in Robot Races get the deals in the same order?

No, everyone gets random hands not played by someone else.

My simulation shows that the chance of a tie is quite small: 0.135%

Robot Race tournaments use the same hands in the same order.

Robot Reward tournaments use random hands at each table.

Just for completeness, does Robot Race give the human the best hand, like Best Hand Robot Rewards does?

Looks like the gap was closed last night? It's coming down to the wire....

Yes.

Robot Reward comes in two flavors, one with best hand to human, one with random hands. jdonn and jlall use the "best hand" version.

JLall switched on hyperdrive on round 37. He hasn't finished out of the money since and his last 4 finishes are 4, 3, 1 and 1. That's inhuman. Looks like an exciting finish shaping up here with 6 rounds to go.

The last tournament sucked, I still think Justin is in the pockets of Fred and Ginsberg, one day I'll prove it.

We intentionally stopped with 6 to go to make two more sessions of 3 a piece. It's GO time!

Lots of good hands to write up if he wants. I had a steppingstone squeeze in one (for an overtrick in a partscore lol), and in another I had one of those misunderstandings by 3 keycards to go down doubled in a grand, which will probably not teach me to stop opening 2NT on 16 counts.

Anyway I'm definitely confident too. I've had several lately where it's like partscore city. I think that is just luck of the draw and won't continue.

Who of you is better in provoking GIBs to make weird bids?

We both rolled badly last night, I was very lucky to pick up a little. There is probably just one session to go and it may be tonight. Thanks to jlall for the competition. I think we would both agree that the end result will to a large degree be randomness, and whoever loses could easily have won with just one change to one result. As they say, that's why it's called gambling.

Uday, tweak the $$ tourneys a little and put this on vugraph please. Thanks.

Even with no hands, just scores-in-progress, it would be an active vugraph for sure. :(

For the last matches I should get a third party to update the google spreadsheet, and we both feed him the scores as they come in for instant updates.

Yep I think we're about equal.

Out of curiousity, have you guys (Jdonn and Jlol) played with each other extensively? Do you blend well, or do you feel like your individual excellence does not actually translate as much when you play together?

Stopping with 2 to go, I thought my biggest edge was going be clutchness tbh, but he was equally clutch so i gained 20 cents with 7200 and 5100. He is up $2.30 with 2 to go. Let's see how clutch he really is B)
