Partner opens 2♥. What's 3♠?
You keycard in hearts somehow and partner shows 1 with the Q. What strain?

1. Easy 3NT. Partner asked for a stopper...sure looks like I have one. The 7th ♦ is just a bonus.

2. Paaaaaass. Much of partner's strength is probably wasted, we're likely off a ♣ and a ♥. Even 4 might be too high.

3. 3♠ = Slam interested splinter, since 2♠ is forcing. Opposite a keycard response, I bid 6♠. I need fewer pitches than partner, and my suit has good odds of running even opposite a likely void.

3. I think its clear to place this in hearts if we are bidding a slam. While all bets are off on a diamond lead, playing this in spades risks either a heart ruff, or being cut off from pard's winners when they lay off the heart A when pard has KQxxxx.

1. 4♣ (natural). I really doubt 3NT has a future. Hopefully, pard won't take 4♣ as some sort of cue. If he's got a strong hand with hearts, he'll bid them now and we'll think it over. If he's got a diamond preference, we can think of raising it to game.

2. This one doesn't make much sense. Pard can't be cueing because he'd have a minor suit cue bid for sure. So this 4♥ must be natural and his 2♠ bid was some sort of an "invented reverse" designed to force to game in hearts. The plan backfired, so he's back to hearts. I'll pass now. With trepidation.

3. 6♠. Hearts may be right, but only if pard has a 1624. In other cases, spades looks more solid a contract.

In this context I think redouble shows a partial stopper.

If not I think that that is a more useful agreement than showing first round control.

With this distribution I don't mind missing 3NT.

3: 6♥, it is enough to deal with a non diamond lead, don't wanna need to deal with a non heart lead as well. Big winner if partner produces x-KQ10xxx-xxx-Kxx

1. I like the agreement that XX shows a stopper where you do not need to play NT from your side, particular the ace. 3 NT shows something like KJx.

2. 6 Heart. 2 Spade seems to be a way to show a hand which was too strong to bid 4 heart after my 1 HEart bid. So he will have millions of High cards which make slam possible.
