so p is showing a diamond void. could keycard here, but I am not sure how to ask for the trump queen after a 6d response. could 4 and raise the anticipated club cuebid to 6.

Could be a singleton, not promising a void.

If you cue 4 p does indeed bid 5

Definitely worth a move; two big cards, spade shortage (even the stiff Q might be helpful). I'll try 4.

Over 5, 5.

er, I wish Tyler hadn't posted this hand. :)

Lets just say the 4 bid is less than ideal, but it was the last board of the session and I felt like we were in contention for all the marbles. 4D is a bad bid, but I knew that when I bid it and did so anyway.

Luckily, the gamble paid off.

I'll just bid 6 now. I don't think we can make 7 here and 6 should be a good MP score already. The hands fits well, so let's hit the road.

This is a good question.

In one partnership I play this as 5=6 in the minors and a hand that doesn't have reversing strength.

Given the fact we think we can win it - 5NT, pick a slam. This should show second round control of spades by implication.

4S and 6C over 5C.

For me 3D is an invitational splinter, 4D does not show a void.
and the result can be plotted on a graph.
