Playing 2/1 absolutely game forcing, what do you think the auction 1H-2D-2H-4H all by one side shows?

Note: the first choice does NOT imply that I think 2H shows 6, it simply is a possible vote.
I tend to lead fourth best - as opposed to the best suit, the second best suit, or the third best suit for our side

Opener has a minimum hand with a fivecard hearts.
The 2♥ rebid is catchcall, is only shows minimum, nothing more.

Responder has all his values in the red suits.

I wrongly voted for other, because I clicked too fast, it's 3 or more hearts.
Nothing mentionable in the black suits.

I realise I'm sounding a little fractious, but I don't get the point of asking about all these auctions individually. How can you say what this auction means without knowing what the 2H rebid means (you say you don't know if it promises 6 hearts or not), or what other rebids and continuations mean? Surely the meaning of 4H here depends on what other ways of raising hearts responder had, even potentially without starting with a 2/1?

Depends on what you have agreed with partner.
In my 2/1 methods, responder shows good long diamonds and good heart support, blacks not stopped (Q at most). Opener shows an opening hand and five hearts.

We should always assume 2/1 unless otherwise stated, because:

- If the original poster didn't bother to state his system, that means that he thinks it's obvious what he's playing. The only people who think this are 2/1 players.

I'd bid 4♥ with a minimum FG response hand, some 13-14 HCP and nothing very useful for slam opposite a minimum opening. I could have a cue-bid but partner should do the investigation if s/he were interested.

Usually opener will have a max of 14 hcp. Responder normally has a hand that wants to play in game, given opener's rebid.

If your style is such that 2♥ is unlimited, then 4♥ is a picture bid.

Sorry Fluffy, I meant on the second round, not an immediate 2NT, which I agree, should show 4.
