I'll show restraint and pass. Partner would have stretched to bid 4 on this auction, but didn't. The Dbl suggest that we do not have a great majority of strength on this hand, so 5m seems unlikely too.

I think it is still possible for us to have 4 card spade fit from partner, but the problem is that we are never ever gonna find it out.

Double will tend to let partner pass with balanced hand and pull without it. If he pulls we might be finding a good sacrifice. If he doesn't we might score a lucky 500. (or -990 as well)

This is very close, and my image of LHO's style might determine what I would do at the table.

With no info I think I pass.

I passed and I think its pretty chicken. Pard held: Ax xxx AQxxxx Ax. We got 200 out of 4, but 5 is cold even though the K is off.

That looks like a 15-17 notrump opening to me.
... that would still not be conclusive proof, before someone wants to explain that to me as well as if I was a 5 year-old. - gwnn

Do you have a method to show 4144 over 1NT? I would end in 3N after a 1N opening, which wouldn't be a huge success...
Trying to learn, I have many questions.

Who said it would have been a success?

I pass, I would also open 1NT with partner's hand.
and the result can be plotted on a graph.

I think this is a clear double- after I read about the complete hand. :)

There is a good chance that I had been in 3 NT with silent opps and in 5 when they had been so kind to bid their hearts.
Kind Regards

Roland
