All Vulnerable at IMPs with LHO dealing you hold:

T
85
AKJ942
AQ82

And you hear this auction:

(P) - P - (1) - 2
(2) - P - (3) - P
(3) - X - (P) - P
(4) - P - (P) - ?
Yay for the "Ignored Users" feature!

LHO is playing a different game than us I think.

If partner couldn't raise to 3 we have no chance on making 5.

for 5 to be a good sacrifice we should be sure that we are not defeating 4 and we are not sure. we could score 3 tricks to start with and A for example.

Pass and hope for the best.

wtp I agree with Gonzalo lol....oh you made a poll, so no need to write this.

I think that X is much better then 5 but I would simply pass.
Kind Regards

Agree completely. I pass, but have more sympathy for double than 5.

We've underbid our hand so much that we can't do anything but pass now. Yes, it does appear that we start with three obvious losers in the majors. But we had an opportunity to bid 3 over 3 and we didn't. You don't always have this shape when you overcall 2 and the Q doesn't always have to be well placed. If we had acted earlier we would not be worrying about whether we should take any action over 4, or worry a lot less, in any case.
Seeking input from anyone who doesn't frequently "wtp", "Lol" or post to merely "Agree with ..."

If 4 makes than 5 is a good move.
4 is probably down if partner holds A or A or K, but this is enough to make 5 a reasonable contract.

If 4 makes I want to be in 5 and if it does not make I want to be in 5 because it very often makes.

I'll bid 5.

Erm, what does the double of 3 show?

Also, he rates to not have a heart void when he leads the 3.

Qx is the standard meaning, isn't it?

I pass.
I have no idea what the responder is doing, but I "see" three tricks for us already.
One diamond (two is unlikely), two clubs, one more to go.
Partner can very well have a trick in hearts.

5. I believe partner tried to show something worthy with double.

I pass expecting to beat 4H, although I would consider double an alternative.

Bidding 5D when partner couldnt raise to 3D (or bid 5D himself over 4H) is sheer lunacy.

I would have bid 3D over 3C, however.
Is the word "pass" not in your vocabulary?

When I read this I didn't even know if we were supposed to be considering double or 5. I pass, I think we would go down and I think they could go down.
Please let me know about any questions or interest or bug reports about GIB.
