RHO deals and passes. You pass. LHO opens 1S, and raises RHO's 1N to 3N

You are at unfavourable vul.

Low club. Dummy is a big favorite to hold a doubleton club, and the club 10 wastes a trick when dummy has AJ or Jx.

Club ten so I don't block the suit.
Please let me know about any questions or interest or bug reports about GIB.

No need to be fancy. Especially if you are also playing with a bot, we all know that twist... I'll lead the 10, which doesn't block the suit, is a relatively standard lead.

I'd go with club 10, but that's not what the bot did of course lol.

My partner rates to have more HCPS then I have. He passed, so his suit is more often diamonds then hearts. (Most people are more aggressiv with majors.)
I try a low diamond.
Of course, declarers suit can be diamond as well.

But I think I need to develop tricks very quick, when we have no running suit, we need to develop 4 tricks very quick.
Kind Regards

Roland

In "real life" GIB led a heart, along with 15% of us.

Declarer ( another GIB ) took a chance on an overtrick ( losing only if the lead was from X or XX of hearts ) and went down :)

North plays 3NT on a lead of low heart

Hmm, say S started with 2C. 4S obv good to buy.

Meanwhile do I miscount? 5S+1H+2D+1C=9?

No, you didn't miscount... GIB just wanted an overtrick... Fred, the "Human" bug needs to be fixed, this bug includes:

1. Making Mistakes
2. Being Too Agressive
3. Getting Greedy at IMPs
4. Not Trusting Partner

I would love it if you could immunize the Robots from this miserable disease :P

You can add on this board:
- opening 2NT
- showing support over 1
- correcting 3NT to 4 with ruffing potential and fit

Hi,

Clubs, the 9 or ten. (I voted for low club, but I agree, this is garbage).

The alternative would be hearts, with the intention to hit partners suit.

Having said that:

It is not clear, if you have to go agressive, the opponents will
have reached a 3NT contract with at most 27-28 HCP, 25-26
are more likely, so there may be a case for going passive,
because 25HCP will give you only a 40-50% chance of making,
and the most passive lead is a spade.

I assume 1NT was non forcing.

With kind regards
Marlowe

What was the form of scoring ? I don't see you mentioning it was IMPs and the Hand Viewer doesn't show it either. At MP the play seems quite sensible. As others playing in 4 will be making at least ten tricks, making 3nt on the nose will be worth few Matchpoints if any. The best chance for ten tricks is either a club at T2 or a heart and it figured the opening leader was more likely to have led from the Ace of hearts.
Seeking input from anyone who doesn't frequently "wtp", "Lol" or post to merely "Agree with ..."
