I'd bid 3♣ next as we could still be cold for GRAND in clubs.

Surely the suggestion that we should try to play in one of our long suits is not so strange?

No - definitely not suggesting to pass. Despite only having 3 HCP this hand is obviously huge. I left out details on purpose as I didn't want to push discussion in any particular direction.

I am curious as to how a 1NT rebid to show a 1 suiter in clubs would do in the long run. I don't think it would be better than 1♥ but maybe more close than you would think.


I will try 1♥, after 2♠ I try 2NT, and then 3NT after the likelly 3♦ response.

well i am surprised "Rose tinted Glasses" PASS is the answer, let the opps sort it out,
you are void in pards suit why try to rescue ---2cl possible if one is prepared to play at 5 level but 2cl shows a suit and 9 points(not recommended)------- the last person will bid due to the shape all round,and partner is still alive regards
