I know many played 1minor P 2major as weak jump shifts. How about
1minor P 3major? Do you play as a weak JS showing more cards of the major or as a splinter bid for the minor opening or any other methods like showing 3 of the major but strong?
thx

Hi AceOfHeart!
Theoretically wjs at 3 level after 1 of minor opening is not wining bid, while at 2/4 level is. Most popular in natural systems is to play 3 level js as splinter (in France in the past fragment). After artifical opening normally 3 level bids are nat and inv. Some of modern systems use 3 level bids as strong 2 suiters. My preferred method are inv for game or slam transfer 1 suiters. You can look it at:

Here is another idea.
I play Major Jumpshift as 6 card suit with 10-11 HCP.
3 Level as Splinter.
Since most people bid their major anyhow with few points and 6 card Major suit.
As long as you play Sign-off after pd bids 2 NT, you bid 3♣, pd is forced to bid 3♦ and when you now bid 3 of you major, you are telling pd you basically had a weak Jumpshift in that Major.
Nice and easy
