What do people generally do with these hands?

This is MPs, what about IMPs?

Partner can make a 3 or 4-card super-accept of a transfer to 3. If you transfer and bid 4 partner will start cuebidding (in support of clubs).

Scoring: MP

2NT-(P)-?

I have not faced this problem yet. I'll transfer to 3H then pass. Won't be unhappy if pard superaccepts.

Hm, I play 3 shows only 2 cards, 3NT at least 3 cards, 4 minimum with 4's. I'll transfer and either stop in 4 if partner has a fit or bid 5 if he doesn't. Hopefully he won't think I'm exclusionkcing...

Also, he rates to not have a heart void when he leads the 3.

Besides playing for fun, most people also like to play bridge to win

Transfer and pass for me. Since PD can superaccpet with 3 cards, lets hope he does and we make game.

8 losers opposite an expected 6 cover cards. Worth a game, in theory.

Transfer + 5, unless you're afraid pard takes that for some sort of voidwood or what not, in which case you're better off bidding a straight 5.

I'd do whatever shows a signoff in 4, at any form of scoring.
... that would still not be conclusive proof, before someone wants to explain that to me as well as if I was a 5 year-old. - gwnn
