Scoring: IMP

1N - 2♣
2♥ - 3N

You lead the ♦T, small diamond from dummy, ♦8 from partner, ♦K from declarer.

Declarer goes after clubs, and partner wins the third round with the ♣A while you pitch your small spade spot (upside down attitude), declarer had ♣Jxx.

Partner plays the ♥7, declarer plays the ♥Q, now what?

♥K, and return ♥10, cut off declarer's communication.
He could be ♠Jxx ♥AQJx ♦AKx ♣Jxx.

Declarer wins, plays a diamond to dummy, cashes his clubs and plays a spade to the jack. We have to give him two more tricks in one hand or the other.

Did we let this through by throwing a spade, or were dummy's spots good enough anyway?
... that would still not be conclusive proof, before someone wants to explain that to me as well as if I was a 5 year-old. - gwnn
