If the ♦ is ducked by north, then I need south to win the A♦ and return a ♦. If south returns a ♥, I won't be able to promote AND cash the Q♦.

Based on your excitement, though, I'm guessing there's more to this hand?

Ok, looking at it a bit more, outside of the ace of ♦, north holds all the controls I'm worried about. Given that he'll have to discard on however many spades I run, things seem interesting. I'll think about this some more.

Win the club. AJK9 of spades, leads to this:

Play a spade, throw a diamond from the board.

If north throws a heart, we'll take 2 spades, 3 hearts, and 2 clubs, for 12 tricks total.
If north throws a club, we'll take 2 spades, 2 hearts and 3 clubs, for 12 trick total.
If north throws a diamond, we'll play a low diamond.
-If north wins: If he returns a club, we'll have our 12 straight off. If he returns a heart, win with the king, then finesse, for 12.
-If south wins: We'll get 2 spades, 2 hearts, 2 clubs and a diamond trick for 12.

Take 1 top club and clear the spades, throwing diamonds form dummy. N will have to come down to 6 cards, which have to be Jxx ♣ and 3 hearts. (if N keeps only 2 clubs , we score the club T. If N keeps only 2 hearts, we score 3 hearts).

Now cross to dummy in clubs and endplay N with the club T. N only gets to make his J♣
