'Relay' was the description my partner used "2♠ relays to 3♣, 3♣ relays to 3♦", I guess he meant to say 'transfer'

<shrug> Playing that system, you don't have a pre-accept. Opener would have to rebid 3♦ over 3♣. Responder's actual 3♥ is a misbid in that system. I guess he was playing some other system.
