After the 2 bid you wrote three passes so the auction should have died here.

What actually happened? Did South bid 3 at his second turn? In that case there is nothing to do about. It is impossible to bid accurately after opps preempt. Sometimes you will miss a 25 point 3NT.

I think South should double 2, though. North has a difficult choice after the double:
- pass
- 3
- 3NT
The world would be such a happy place, if only everyone played Acol :) --- TramTicket

It depends on the partnership agreements.

If North's double of 2 is for penalties, North should double 2. If not, then North should pass and South should reopen with a double. Either way it will be a bloodbath.

Hi,

#1 First you have to answer the question, do YOU want to be in 3NT?
You have 24HCP, the hands dont fit to well, so ...

#2 Second, given that you have 24HCP between the combined hands,
should someone have made a move?
The 2C bid showes a min opener, but 15/16 HCP are still possible,
maybe even bad 17, given this, responder knowes that 25 ist still
possible, so he should consider another move.
The move toward game would be 3C.
Is the move clear cut? No.
Responder is looking at a bal. hands which is dominated by Jacks,
so the 10HCP are overvalue the hand, so a pass is reasonable,
although conservative.
Playing a conservative style, pays off sometimes, and sometimes
not.

With kind regards
Marlowe

PS: There is a reason, why keyboard allowes you to differentiate between
small letters and large letters, and you should try to avoid using only BIG
LETTERS.
With kind regards
